The Kansas Office of the State Bank Commissioner (OSBC) is proud to be an agency that gives back to the communities we serve. In 2011, the OSBC, and the Office of the Kansas Securities Commissioner partnered to bring the Kansas Financial Scholars Program to high school students throughout the state of Kansas. The Kansas Financial Scholars Program utilizes EverFi™ Financial Literacy to empower students across Kansas with the skills they need to take control of their financial future.
EverFi™ - Financial Literacy uses the latest in new media technologies to bring complex financial concepts to life for today's digital generation. The course covers credit scores, budgeting, insurance, credit cards, student loans, mortgages, taxes, stocks, savings, 401k's and other critical concepts. It is completed entirely online and utilizes an interactive, cutting edge technology to engage students. It is aligned to Kansas state standards and has been selected and listed as a resource for business pathways by the Kansas Department of Education. Students who successfully complete the course receive a certification in financial literacy, which can be a powerful tool for job applications, college search, and internships.
This financial literacy program is available to all Kansas high school students at no cost to schools.
